Chemical Compounds

 

Unit Overview: For students to learn the properties of chemical compounds. They will determine the importance of certain chemical compounds that are used in everyday life. The students will to identify characteristics of certain chemical compounds and have an understanding of how they are used throughout the world.  

Personal Achievement: I think I learn a lot about chemical compounds, such as knowing that it is chemically bonded between 2 or more elements. For instance, H2O are held together by polar covalent bond.

Enduring Understanding: Chemical compounds are chemically bonded between 2 or more elements. For instance, H2O are held together by polar covalent bond. The ratio of the elements are expressed by chemical compound. Mass percent is percent of how much a certain element is in the compound.
Reflection on Progress Towards the Standards:

 

Strengths: Demonstrates the understanding of chemical compounds. I did well on the test explaining what is chemical compound and was able to calculate the percent mass also.

 

Areas for Improvement: Develops reading literacy in science. I think I should improve my English, since reading is my challenge. To improve, I should read more science.
