Geography and Exploration Reflection

What enables and motivates exploration?

 

Ans: Curiosity and enjoyment motivate exploration because they make people to find out more and enjoy with it as well. If people don’t want to discover new things, then how could exploration be possible? Some of the new things can be gold, spices, or unknown goods, so people wanted to have or to be the first person to discover a certain thing. For example, why does Christopher Columbus wanted to explore Asia? That’s because he wanted to discover new things, where there are gold, pearls, and spice awaited. Another of example can be that explorer wanted to colonize the Americas.

 

 

 

2) How does what we learned connect to the real world?

 

 

Ans: What we learned do really connect to the real world. This is because what we learned are really important and that will make us understand how geography affect the world. For example, some of the place in the world like The Fertile Crescent would have domesticated animals for farming and crops are also easy to plant. People also have time to find out new thing, like how to farm or invent technology not like New Guinea. For the the columbian exchange, it really connect to the real world. This is because foods that we eat today are mostly from the New World, the land that Christopher Columbus discovered. So we can understand how the world transformed this much and what caused it to happen. Another example can be African slave trade. Slave develop the world in trading because they went to the Americas for sugar plantation and therefore that was how goods are transferred between the continents.

 

 

 

3) Choose one piece of work that you completed this unit.

 

 

Ans: I thought the essay for this unit is the part that I learned the most. The reason is that I did a plenty of research and I found a lot of new interesting information that I never knew it before. So, this essay help me a lot because I can see how do the New world, slave, and triangular trade route are all connected.
