Hi
Welcome to Joey's website!
Star War
1) Essential Questions:
How does an author's use of language add and/or transform meaning?
Ans: Shakespearean language really add and transform meaning. First of all, it gives a lot of feeling, which makes the story to be more fun for the reader. Also, it connects to the real world and has a really good theme. Additionally, some of the Shakespearean vocabulary creates an intense and dramatic scene in the book. Furthermore, it makes the story to be much more longer; however, it creates more meaning comparing the the modern English.
Is analytic thinking a necessary skill? Why or why not?
Ans: Yes, it is really important because in order to understand the story in depth, I need be able to analyse different parts of the story in your mind. In this unit, my class did a double-journal and we needed to analyze on one entry on each of the act. Without this skill, I wouldn’t be able to make connections in the story.
What do conversations about literature do for you?
Ans: It really helps me because I can have more ideas, as well as more understanding. Also, it reminds me the important series of events in the play. Moreover, I can share my ideas to other people and I can also express my feeling and opinion.
2) How does what you learned connect to the real world?
Ans: How does what I learned connect to the real world because I can use it in the future. Learning old language are the same as learning history because I can learn how people’s life were and what are the differences between Shakespearean language and modern English.
3) Evidence
Ans: The first evidence is the double-entry journal. This assignment is really interesting for me because if I wasn't asked to complete this assignment, then I wouldn't realize the character's development, theme, tone, and the author stylistic lang. The second evidence is called " transforming language", which connected to the burning question "how does the author's uses of language add/ or transform meaning". This assignment is also very interesting for me because I didn't realize that there is a huge difference between the Shakespearean language and when we chat.
