Unit 2: Power and Momentum

Unit Overview: We started this unit off by focusing on work and energy. The students needed to grasp a good understanding of the definition of work as well as how energy and forces are used for this concept. Once the concept was attained we continued to collisions and momentum. Our last topic of this unit was circular motion and gravitation. All of these concepts work together to reinforce understanding on forces and how they work in our environment.

Action Plan for Improvement

  1. Where did I struggle? I struggled with one of the calculation parts of the test and a few questions that I was unsure.

  2. What questions do I still have? What is the difference between centripetal force and centripetal acceleration?

  3. What am I going to do to strengthen my understanding? One way I can improve is to do more practice on the math part of the chapter. For example, I forgot to put sin degree into the equation, but instead, I put cos degree which is wrong.

Name 2 key things you learned from this unit.

  1. I think one thing I learn from this unit is about momentum. I learned that momentum is velocity times the mass and a bigger object tends to have more momentum.

  2. I also learned about lots of equation, such as work equal force times distance or centripetal acceleration formula.
