Unit Overview

 

We started this unit off by reviewing all the parts of a wave.  We experimented with slinkies, pitch forks and straws to create an understanding of concepts such as frequency, pitch and ‘loudness’. After we had a clear concept of the terms we compared waves of a simple pendulum to sound. By looking at similarities between the two we were able to get a better understanding of how waves work in the world around us.

Action Plan for Improvement

 

-I struggle on some of the online quizzes, especially on the questions that let me do calculation.

-I don't think I have any question.

-I can practice some questions on textbook for a better understanding and know which formula to use.

 

Things I learned from this unit

- I have learned that every sounds come from vibrating object. 

- I also learned that about the difference between converging and divergent lens.
